SPCA Needs You!

The local SPCA has recently taken in many of the animals rescued from a Cape Breton shelter. I contacted them this week and received a list of things they desperately need. Their resources are stretched. They have enough dry dog and cat food as it is supplied by Royal Canin, but need other things to compliment the food.

  • Cat litter - gravel - non-scoopable, non-clumping
  • Canned cat food
  • Canned kitten food - they have already received their first litter of newborn kittens
  • cat toys - NO catnip toys
  • Bleach
  • canned dog food
  • dog toys - very sturdy ones that can go through the dishwasher, they love kongs that they can stuff with peanut butter.
Go through your toybox and see if there are things that would be suitable. They have young, strong, bored dogs at the shelter and heavy duty toys are a necessity. You can drop this stuff off at the shelter at Scarfe Court anytime.
